Chef's Tips

Frying in an air fryer can help to cut back on some calories, making the dish just a little healthier!

Directions

Step 1:

Combine Flour, Salt, and 2 tsp of Hungry Gene Nashville Hot Chicken Seasoning into a bowl.

Step 2:

Create egg wash by combining Eggs, Buttermilk, and 1 tsp of Hungry Gene Nashville Hot Chicken Seasoning.

Step 3:

Bread Chicken Breasts by coating them in flour mixture, dipping completely in egg wash, and covering in flour mixture once again.

Step 4:

Heat 1 inch vegetable oil in large pan over medium-high heat until thermometer registers between 350°F and 375°F. You can also test heat by dropping a bit of water into the pan. When it sizzles, the oil is ready for frying. See below for air fryer instructions!

Step 5:

Place breasts in the hot oil, frying 6-7 minutes on each side or until a meat thermometer inserted in center reaches 170°F.

Step 6:

Meanwhile, combine oil, honey, lemon juice, and remaining 1.5 tsp of Hungry Gene Nashville Hot Chicken Seasoning.

Step 5:

Once chicken has finished frying, brush with oil mixture to taste and top with pickles.

If you are frying with an air fryer:

Step 4:

Grease your air fryer basket, place chicken in the basket, brush with oil, then fry for 25-28 minutes at 390°F.
