Fajitas have been around since the early 1930s but didn't gain popularity on the American food scene until the 1960s.  Today, they are a common dish served in restaurants and in homes all over the US.  You can find beef, checken, pork, shrimp and veggie fajitas virtually everywhere.  To make the perfect fajita marinade at home, mix 2-3 tablespoons of Hungry Gene's Salt-Free Fajita Seasoning with 2/3 cup vegetable oil and 1/3 cup vinegar (or the juice from 3 freshly squeezed limes). Pour your marinade over 3 lbs of thin strips (1/2" to 1" thick) of skirt, flank or round steak, or chicken, or pork, or portabella mushrooms and marinate in the refrigerator 4-8 hours . For shrimp,  marinate for 30 minutes to two hours. Pan fry or grill the meat (or veggies). For added flavor sprinkle a bit more seasoning over the meat (or veggies) during the cooking process. Serve with  cooked onions and bell peppers (green, red, yellow, and orange). Serve with all of your favorites: shredded cheese, sour cream, pico, and tortillas.  Enjoy!

This blend is salt-free for those who are concerned about salt in-take. For those that want more salt, try adding Hungry Gene's Himalayan Pink Mineral Salt to taste.

Because this blend is salt free, you can use it a little more sparingly (than you would a blend with added salt) without sacrificing the flavor. Enjoy!
