This blend of aromatic herbs is also known as Provencal herbs. It is a traditional blend of common, aromatic herbs that flourish in hills of France's Provence region. There is no one specific recipe for this blend as they vary from family to family.  Some of the more common herbs used include basil, bay leaf, chervil, dill, fennel, lavender, marjoram, mint, organge zest, oregano, rosemary, sage, savory, tarragon and thyme. Lavender is not used much in the French version of Herbs de Provence but is it is more common in the US version.

Use Herbs de Provence in Mediterannean dishes, used with olive oil on grilled chicken or fish, on roasts (beef, pork or lamb), on cheese, tomatoes on oven roasted potatoes, in gravies and sauces, salads, soups and stews.

This blend is salt-free for those who are concerned about salt in-take. For those that want more salt, try adding Hungry Gene's Himalayan Pink Mineral Salt to taste.

Because this blend is salt free, you can use it a little more sparingly (than you would a blend with added salt) without sacrificing the flavor. Enjoy!
